The Down And Out Bluegrass Band is a Belfast, Northern Ireland based band and was born in March 2011 and consists of four members, Roy, Richard, Mal and Howard.
We are a strictly traditional old time bluegrass band with no fancy frills, just straight forward country pickin and harmony with a good hard driving style.
Our Bluegrass influences are :
Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, The Osborne Brothers, Jim & Jesse McReynolds, The Dillards, The Country Gentlemen , The Stanley Brothers and The Clinch Mountain Boys, The Louvin Brothers, Don Reno and Red Smiley And The Tennessee Cut-ups, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Carter Family, Little Grasscals, Trampled By Turtles.................etc
We are currently taking bookings for festivals, BBQs, private functions, weddings, street parties, house parties, garden parties, fetes, village fairs............well just about any occasion where there's an appetite for good American mountain music.
